Kristen Aldrich, National Technical Assistance Manager, works with New Entry’s national programs team to support applicants and grantees of two USDA grant programs: Community Food Projects and Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program. She provides assistance and resources to organizations seeking funding from these sources and is supporting the planning for a national Community Food Systems Conference. She is pleased to help organizations achieve their goals in local food systems work, connecting communities to and promoting the support of local farms.
Her prior experience includes Operations Coordinator with the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project in Asheville, NC and previous operations-based positions in university administration at NYU and Suffolk University. She has on farm experience as a WWOOF volunteer in OR and CA and as a seasonal farm intern in VT.
Kristen holds an MA in Environmental Conservation Education from NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development where her coursework included environmental policy, philosophy, and education as well as nonprofit management.
