Role

Caitlin is the National Technical Assistance Coordinator at New Entry within its FIELD Network program.  She does outreach to promote USDA programs and land access services for beginning farmer land-based training networks. Her responsibilities include developing educational resources and training materials, and supporting the national network through building connections. 

Background & Education

Caitlin is passionate about building sustainable local food systems and has spent the last 25 years working in this field, including owning and operating a diversified vegetable farm for eight years in her hometown of Ipswich, Massachusetts. Caitlin also previously served as the Executive Director of Nourishing the North Shore, a food access organization focused on increasing access to local produce. In this role, she developed programs which utilized federal and state funds to purchase produce direct from farmers to be distributed to area food pantries, free grocery and meals programs and directly to low-income community members. 
 
Caitlin holds a self-designed Bachelor’s Degree from UMASS – Amherst entitled “Community-Based Development through Sustainable Agriculture” and an MS from Antioch University in Resource Management and Conservation.
