Scholarships Available for 2017 Community Food Systems Conference
A limited number of scholarships will be available to those who can demonstrate need and a strong interest in participating in the conference.
Scholarship awards may cover full or partial conference registration fees, meals, a ticket to the reception on December 6th, and lodging. Travel costs or additional conference fees such as field trips are not included.
Who Should Apply
We will prioritize the following groups/individuals for scholarship awards:
-Farmers/farmworkers/farm service organizations
-Food service workers
-Persons of color
-Staff or volunteers from organizations with small budgets
-our conference presenters who may need assistance
Scholarship recipients will be required to provide some volunteer help to support the conference. Volunteer work could include the following: promoting the conference on social media (before and during the conference); allow an interview with staff to reflect on your conference experience; providing a short write-up of your conference experience; being assigned a 4 hour volunteer shift assisting staff during the event. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you will be sent further instructions on your volunteer commitment.
If you are not selected to receive a scholarship, there may be work-trades available.
