Explore Farming is New Entry’s introductory workshop for those who are brand new to agriculture. If you dream of becoming a farm owner or getting involved in the food system, this workshop is a great place to start. You will get an overview of the agricultural landscape for small farms and tools to help you decide what your next steps are. 

  • Identify resources you have and resources you'll need if you want to start a farm business. 
  • Hear the perspective from a local farmer about getting started in agriculture. 
  • Learn about New Entry Sustainable Farming Project's ongoing courses and services for farmers and food system organizations.

    Ben helps new and prospective farmers get the training and resources they need to succeed as growers. His responsibilities include developing curricula and teaching farming/production courses as well as exploring innovative methods for building soil-health while growing crops.
