When Things Go Wrong on the Farm

A six-part virtual workshop series to help farmers prepare for risk, respond to challenges, and build more resilient farm businesses.

Artie Siller, Soil Health and Management expert from UMass extension will explore how soil structure, organic matter, and farm management practices influence water infiltration and retention. Participants will learn how these factors can improve a farm’s resilience to both flooding and drought, and what management strategies can help soils better handle increasingly variable weather conditions.
