The fee for switching to a "Choose Fresh & Local" Massachusetts license plate goes toward helping new farms get started and grow. Equipment. Training. Business support. By choosing our special license plate, you will be making an impactful tax-deductible contribution every two years at renewal that goes directly to New Entry and Mass Farmers Markets. Help sustain a vibrant local food system for years to come; sign up is easy!
Get Your Plate:
- Go to the RMV's webpage here for ordering a special license plate
- Select "Choose Fresh & Local (MA Food Plate)"
- Pay a 1-time plate changeover fee of $20, along with a tax-deductible special plate fee of $40 + general registration* fees that recur every two years.
- Receive your MA Food Plate in the mail and get it on the road!
- Renew your registration every two years paying $100 ($60 general registration + $40 tax-deductible special plate fee)
*Please note: The General Registration fee for the new plates when you change over will be determined on where you are in your registration cycle and may not be the full $60.
