New Entry is excited to welcome three new staff members! Without further ado, here they are:
Nora Saks: As Beginning Farmer Resources Coordinator, Nora provides year-round technical assistance and training to small-scale beginning farmers both on and off the field. She also manages the Beginning Farmer Network of Massachusetts (BFN/Mass), a collaborative network of farmers and service providers dedicated to the success of new farmers across the state. Nora has over a decade of experience working on commercial family farms, educational farms, and with farm-based non-profit organizations around the U.S. and Canada. She has a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto, a Permaculture Design Certificate, and a Certificate in Creative Non-Fiction Writing and Multimedia from the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
Sarah Lambertson: As Community Food Projects coordinator, Sarah is working on our new national program to provide technical assistance to applicants and grantees of Community Food Projects Grants (awarded by USDA's National Institute of Food and Agriculture). Sarah previously was a project coordinator for a USDA SARE grant with the Cheshire County Conservation District, an educator and local forager at Whole Foods Market, and one of the managers of the Boston Local Food Festival and Local Food Trade Show through the Sustainable Business Network. She earned her BS in Environmental Science from McGill University, and her MBA in Sustainability from Antioch University New England.
Brianna Bowman: As National Technical Assistance Coordinator, Brianna coordinates the National Incubator Farm Training Initiative (NIFTI), connecting farm incubator projects across the country with resources and technical assistance. Brianna comes to New Entry by way of Colorado, where she received an MA in International Development with a concentration in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Denver. She previously worked at Community Mediation, the International Rescue Committee, and several farms, and completed a BA in Peace Studies at Goucher College and a Permaculture Design Training with Cornell University Cooperative Extension.
We all look forward to working alongside our new colleagues!
