Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

What's a CSA?

At the supermarket, only three to twenty cents of every dollar you spend on food makes it back to the farmer who grew it, and the food travels an average of 1,300 miles to reach the consumer, often involving very low pay for agricultural workers.

CSA programs connect producers and consumers in a more mutually beneficial way that supports local communities and the environment.

A CSA membership is the easiest, most delicious way to know where and how your food is grown. CSA members support farmers by purchasing food shares of their harvest before the agricultural season starts. With the money from your advance payment, farmers are in better positions to buy the seeds, supplies, and labor needed to grow and harvest the produce that goes to you.

Why Choose New Entry's CSA?

Instead of all the produce in your CSA share (or box) coming from one farm, New Entry aggregates and distributes produce to customers that comes from more than 30 different local and small-scale farms. Your purchase of a CSA share allows us to continue training beginning farmers, providing them with access to new markets, and allows us to bring fresh and nutritious produce to underserved communities through our Food Access programs.

You have flexibility with customizable CSA options!

Throughout the 20-week growing season from June through October in Massachusetts, New Entry CSA members have the options of our Traditional CSA or custom "CSA Your Way" weekly shares of freshly harvested produce, and can sign up for a full CSA season, 1/2 season (10 weeks), or join in at any time for pro-rated cost.

CSA pickup is available in Beverly, Medford and Somerville, in addition to home delivery available on the North Shore.

Members also receive regular newsletters with a list of the upcoming share contents, recipes, updates from our programs, and more!

Our Traditional CSA and Holiday CSA are SNAP/HIP eligible.
