The New Entry Food Hub works with beginning and small-scale farmers to incorporate fresh, local food into community food access initiatives. This work includes many different partners including Council on Aging (COA) and senior centers, food pantries, culinary training programs, community resource centers, housing centers, and farm-to-school programs.

The New Entry Food Hub works with culinary training programs to provide high quality produce and helps bring their tasty and nutritious creations to consumers through partnership with the New Entry Mobile Market through which these products are highlighted and sold.

Farm to School
Year-round deliveries available
In collaboration with MA Farm to School, the New Entry Food Hub delivers locally grown fresh produce to schools year-round for students to enjoy. In addition to providing the produce, we collaborate with schools to create innovative harvest-of-the-month programs to educate students about their food and seasonal eating. The New Entry Food Hub also helps facilitate farmer visits to schools and hosts student field trips to the New Entry farm in Beverly, MA for hands on learning about local farming.

Mobile Market
Available Seasonally
Mobile Markets are a unique type of market designed to bring affordable, fresh and nutritious food into communities with limited food access.
In 2023, the New Entry Food Hub began running a pilot Mobile Market program focused on improving food access by selling low-cost and SNAP/HIP-eligible fresh, local produce in food insecure and limited access areas. The New Entry Food Hub also supports farmer education about Mobile Markets through our Mobile Market 101 Course and personalized technical assistance available through September 2026.

Senior Farmer’s Market Program
June – October
In partnership with coordinators at COA and elder service sites, the New Entry Food Hub delivers fresh, local produce weekly during the growing season for them to distribute to their clients at no cost. Ongoing funding through Beth Israel Lahey Hospital (BILH), the MA Senior Farmers Market Coupon program, and individual donors make this program possible.
